Yesterday we took care of carpet spots and today we're going to deep clean our floors.
Today is also wash floors day - so we're going to incorporate these two things to get the tasks completed.
How you choose to deep clean your floors is entirely up to you and dependent on what kind of floors you have. Here are a few ideas of some floor washing methods:
- I have a steam mop, so once every month or two I use that to deep clean my hardwood floors and tile
- Wash the floors the old-fashioned way (hands and knees - get corners and spots that a mop may miss
- Clean carpet in a room with a carpet cleaner -I have this one
- it's awesome!
How do you deep clean your floors?
Your suppose to clean your floors? LOL.. I can't even remember the last time I deep cleaned them! I am so slack. Hopefully you will be my inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love my steam mop, it is so easy to use that I am able to deep clean my floors more often. If I want to really get my floors clean though, I find the best way is the good old fashioned way on hands and knees. I find it is helpful to do a small spot at a time wash, rinse and dry before moving on to the next section.
ReplyDeleteNow that I have my basic h2 I can't wait to clean my floors using it :0)
We have a carpet cleaner that I love! When I was younger and trying to figure out what mop to buy I would ask people what kind they used, and all the older ladies told me their hands and knees. I thought they were crazy, but guess what? I now use my hands and knees too! Grant it I only have small spaces to mop, If I had all floors to mop I would probably use a mop to help out! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat do you use int your carpet cleaner? I know that traditional carpet solutions/cleaners tend to make the carpet dirtier because they attract dirt & the are loaded with chemicals. I have heard you can use Basic H2, but wasn't sure of how much to use?
ReplyDeleteKimberly-
ReplyDeleteThe ratio for carpet cleaning with H2 is generally, 1 TBL. Basic H2 to one gallon of water - so in my little canister it's about 2 Tsp. of H2 and water to clean your carpet.
We do it the old fashioned way, hands and knees, for deep cleaning our floor. Needless to say I don't do it very often.
ReplyDeleteYay for the steam mop! I love mine, too!!

I guess I didn't know there was such a thing as a steam mop...wow I'm way out of the loop! I'm thinking I need to get one. NOW. I'm tired of the hands and knees method. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Becky! Now I just need to clean my carpets ;)
ReplyDeleteOkay, I've been on the fence about a steam mop. Which one do you all recommend?
ReplyDeleteMegan-
ReplyDeleteI have a Shark Steam Mop - love it!
Yeah, I steam cleaned the carpets in December. Yesterday, I got on my hands and knees and did the corners of the bathrooms and kitchen. I also mopped the bigger areas. Wondering how a steam cleaner would be for the tile floors.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Michelle M.
Michelle-
ReplyDeleteI use the steam cleaner to deep clean tile, wood, and linoleum - works great on all three!
Forgive me if this sounds ignorant, but how is the weekly floor cleaning different from the deep cleaning?
ReplyDeleteHi Jen :)
ReplyDeleteI use a simple Rubbermaid mop for weekly cleaning and move quickly. Every once in a while it needs a little extra TLC :) so I get down on my hands and knees or use my steam mop and do a more thorough job.
