Cleaning Month - Kitchen Cabinets - Day 2

Today is Day 2 of the Kitchen Cabinets - were you able to wipe down the fronts of  them yesterday?  Seeing as how we're trying to keep this down to 'a little bit' of  deep cleaning, I'm going to suggest that you pick one or two cabinets or drawers to declutter.  By all means, if you have the extra time and are motivated to, clean more than one or two.

I chose the two drawers in my kitchen island....
(yes, they are semi-organized, but the drawers need to be wiped out)

empty

clean - I sprayed with Basic H2 and wiped it clean

put it all back in categories - this is the baking drawer

this is the cooking drawer

Oh, did you see the labels on there?  Yeah I did that too - I got a little carried away.
(I like clear labels in my Dymo - that way I can place them on anything and all you see are the letters.)

Here are the categories I used:
Baking Drawer
measuring spoons, scoops, grate + press

measuring cups, miscellaneous

Cooking Drawer
knives, openers

cutters, bottle stoppers, miscellaneous

See you tomorrow!

I'm at The Idea Room today sharing an Organizational Tip - I'd love for you to stop by!

  1. Thank you for inspiring me. I began a weekly cleaning and laundry list. Even though I have not stuck to it 100% it has still helped me to navigate through cleaning and reduce stress in what to do.

  4. Looks great!! I just did this about a year ago (kitchen cabinets), but a few drawers are starting to look messy again...uh oh!

what I don't get: why, if we always put things away in the drawer that are clean, do CRUMBS get in there? how does that happen, lol?

  6. I'm so glad that I joined your site. I'm also happy that I joined in with your Janurary cleaning. My house is thankful for that lol. :)

Yesterday my mom asked me what I want for my bday. I told her to buy some Shaklee for me. I can't wait to get it! I'm so anxious to use the scour off!!
