Messy Monday #25 - Lemonade Stand

For this week's Messy Monday, it's all about lemons, lemonade and the quintessential
lemonade stand.

Here's what we're working on this week to get into the lemonade stand theme:
  • Checking out lemonade stand books from the library and making sight word cards from new vocabulary words.
  • I started with some simple lemon shape collages - cut out yellow circles and white triangles.  My toddler enjoyed gluing the shapes together and making a shape collage and my preschooler and I did a very simple fraction lesson in forths (4 triangles/quarters make a whole).
  • We'll set up an indoor lemonade stand with pretend lemonade and used coins to practice counting skills.
  • We're making homemade fresh lemonade with a simple syrup and fresh squeezed lemons.  Here's the recipe we're using from allrecipes.
  • Here are a couple links to  lemon and lemonade free printables that we're using for some fun coloring pages.
  •  We might have a real lemonade stand this week, weather, schedule and traffic permitting.
