Getting Ready for "Cleaning Month"

If you are joining in on the cleaning fun next month (go here if you want to find out about it), there are a few things that you might want to do to make the month run a bit more smoothly.

  • take down and pack away holiday decorations
  • go through each room in your house and take a good look at your belongings and see if there are some things that you can tossdonate (donate by 12/31 for a 2010 tax deduction), pack away (like outgrown toys), sell on Craigslist or Ebay, or set aside for a garage sale later.  Eliminating clutter will help in the cleaning process and give your rooms a fresh start.
  • catch up on laundry - looking at mountains of dirty or clean laundry won't help the cleaning process
  • get your cleaning bucket ready - here's what I keep in mine:

If you need some great (the most effective, in my opinion) non-toxic cleaners, take advantage of this month's Shaklee special (free membership with $70 purchase) and I have another special in addition to that too - it's automatic, but you can email me (clean.mama@yahoo.com) if you are interested.
