Homekeeping Q and A + Father's Day Gift Idea

Homekeeping can be defined many different ways, but I like to think of it as making a house into a home and figuring out a way to maintain that home-y feeling.  I'd like to open this section up to some homekeeping questions - some I'll answer in the comments and others I'll discuss in a post next week and a week or two after that.  Sooooo.....any homekeeping and/or cleaning questions for me?  Ask away!

I also have a little almost *free* Father's Day gift idea for you.  Clean the grill and make-ahead some hamburger patties to stock the freezer for dad.

Here's the grill - full of grease and dirt.  (Excuse the pic quality - it was raining and I'm in the garage.)

I used my degreaser formulation of Basic H2 and sprayed the grill - top to bottom.  Yes, it's tough enough to get off the WORST grease on grills, stoves, ovens....

Let it sit for a few minutes to cut the grease.

Wipe clean.  And there you have a thoughtful gift without cash.

I made-ahead our family favorite for THE PERFECT BURGER patties and tossed them in the freezer for Father's Day grilling.  I used this recipe - it is awesome - you won't want to make plain patties again.
I'd love to hear/see your homekeeping questions in the comments section!

  2. Love this idea!
Here's my question: I am returning to work full time next school year and would love tips on cleaning schedules or meal plans for busy afternoons! I'm trying to avoid the "clean house all day Saturday" routine.
