Need an afternoon iced tea break? Here's how I make a quick afternoon refresher...
3-4 cups of water in a glass Pyrex measuring cup - 2 tea bags ( I love this Twinings Pure Peppermint for iced tea)
microwave on high for 4 minutes
let steep for 15 minutes (or so)
remove tea bags and add sweetener (honey or sugar - if you want to) while still hot (so it fully dissolves)
chill in the refrigerator for a bit - usually about 15-30 minutes
fill a glass with ice
add tea and enjoy!
Iced peppermint tea is a good afternoon alternative to remember.
ReplyDeleteI have now made the switch from hot tea to iced tea...my summer drink of choice. I used to like those presweetened ice tea mixes...but once you get used to real, fresh iced tea....no way!
ReplyDeleteGreat suggestion. My mom used to leave tea bags in water in a glass jug in the sunshine. A few hours later, it was ready to be refrigerated and diluted for some great iced tea.
ReplyDeleteLovely picture of a glass filled with ice-tea. Getting thirsty just by looking at it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this tip! I always hated dragging out a huge pitcher just for a few cups of iced tea!
