SHORT CUT 6 - Iced Tea for One

Need an afternoon iced tea break?  Here's how I make a quick afternoon refresher...

3-4 cups of water in a glass Pyrex measuring cup - 2 tea bags ( I love this Twinings Pure Peppermint for iced tea)

microwave on high for 4 minutes

let steep for 15 minutes (or so)

remove tea bags and add sweetener (honey or sugar - if you want to) while still hot (so it fully dissolves)

chill in the refrigerator for a bit - usually about 15-30 minutes

fill a glass with ice

add tea and enjoy!

  1. Iced peppermint tea is a good afternoon alternative to remember.

  2. I have now made the switch from hot tea to iced tea...my summer drink of choice. I used to like those presweetened ice tea mixes...but once you get used to real, fresh iced tea....no way!

  3. Great suggestion. My mom used to leave tea bags in water in a glass jug in the sunshine. A few hours later, it was ready to be refrigerated and diluted for some great iced tea.

  4. Lovely picture of a glass filled with ice-tea. Getting thirsty just by looking at it.

  5. Thanks for this tip! I always hated dragging out a huge pitcher just for a few cups of iced tea!
