Sink Etiquette

Washing a lot of dishes or rinsing dishes for the dishwasher?  Try this quick tip - put your silverware in a colander for easy rinsing or washing.  No silverware caught in the garbage disposal or down the drain and you won't need to fish out a knife from the bottom of your sink.

This would probably fall under the 'Ultra-Organized Clean Freak' category of homekeeping styles - I'd love it if you checked out my post on Life...Your Way.  What homekeeping style do you have?

  2. I like the idea of a colander. In the kitchen I use a big pot (that is soaking) for my utensils, but in the kids bathtub I use a big colander for the bath toys (foam letters). It works great to collect and rinse them. www.20minutemom.com

  4. Also my biggest discovery - a sink mesh. Prevents anything uwanted going down your garbage disposal and destroying those expensive blades- like a spoon.

  5. there is no chore i despise more than doing the dishes (must me from my old waitressing days)... this is exactly how I collect my flatware! I am a poor housekeeper but making a huge effort to improve. I enjoy reading your tips!

  6. This is such a great idea. I use a similar method but instead I put them in a sturdy cup filled with warm soapy water. That way the caked on food will loosen and everything should come clean in my not-so-new dishwasher. :)

  7. Good idea! I usually just put them in a bowl/pot/cup depending on what else needs to be washed.
