Day 18 - 31 Days to a Clean House

It's Day 18 of 31 Days to a Clean House!
I made a printable for us to track our progress, you could just take it and run, but I think you'll like the daily motivation and tips and tricks that this series will provide. So come back every day for the assignment and check off your progress as we go. You can go here to grab the free printable.

If you want to keep up on other daily cleaning tasks using my simple routine you can check out my free October cleaning schedule - to learn more about my cleaning routine and how I make cleaning a little bit every day an easy and manageable thing that we do. I have more free printables here too!

As we make our way through our kitchens, today we're going to finish up the pantry or food storage area.  I have a few simple ideas that I use to organize my pantry to share with you today.

Here's an overview of the pantry - yes, I shop at Costco (notice large sizes) and no I don't use special containers for everything,
Even thought it's a large pantry, I love the side door storage.

I love using crocks for storage around the house - this one works great for potatoes and onions - it creates a dark, dry environment to keep them fresh for longer.

I love these large drawer organizers from Target for storing my baking and cooking supplies - no drips on the shelves and it keeps everything together.

I use smaller drawer organizers for baby food and kid snacks - easy access for everyone.

I use a food storage container to store clips that we use to close up cereal and snack bags.

I keep a pantry inventory checklist {from my Menu Planning Kit}on the door - I attach it with an ornament hanger.

Here's a close-up - the hooks are from Pottery Barn from a few years ago.

So how's your kitchen coming along?

  1. Your pantry is lovely! I miss having an enclosed pantry. I'm having to make do with a "visible" pantry in this house. I have those silver chrome shelving units. It was looking too clutter-y for my taste, so I went and got a few large crates and baskets to hold smaller items to cut the clutter a bit. In our humid southern climate, we actually have to put a lot of our food into containers or it will get those weird little moths in it or other little bugs. I think I'm going to be on the lookout for a crock like you pictured. I have a terrible time getting potatoes to last and not go bad quickly. Maybe that will help?

  2. Great idea about keeping a board in the pantry. I'm going to try that. I'm not following your schedule, mainly because we just moved into the house and have just done a lot of organization. But the pantry needs a regular deep cleaning
