Decorate with Jars

I have a mild jar obsession.  I was walking down the aisle at my local grocery store and saw the canning goods out and got a little weak in the knees.  I'm not kidding - don't even ask me about antique milk bottles.

Here are a couple of ways that I use jars to decorate or ways that I decorate jars to use them in our home.

I have a collection of old Ball jars on display on my kitchen window sill - my favorite color.

I like to decorate with old pimento cheese jars.

I label jars to store things in - like baking soda.

I love to put mixes in the jars for gifts.

Reward Jars - I used a small Ball canning jar, popped out the metal top, traced around it, and replaced it with a piece of cardstock.  Cut a hole in the top for coins and decorated it with stickers - I also glue-gunned ribbon around the edge.  My oldest decorated hers (with a little help) - she gets coins for doing special things and this is her garage sale money/ice cream money/special treat money.
Anyone else have a jar obsession?  What do you do with jars?
I'm linking this up to some fun parties - check them out!

  1. Love your jars, especially the blue Ball jars! Beautiful color! I have over a dozen glass gallon jars on my long kitchen counter for pasta, oatmeal, rice, etc. I've had them for almost 30 years and love the great texture and graphic kick with all of them lined up.

  10. and here I thought I was the only one that had a "thing" for jars. I love....love....LOVE the old Ball and Mason jars. The older the better. The ones with the wire catch are my favs. Self sealing, glass lids etc. Blue, clear, black and amber. They are all wonderful. The little air bubbles are pretty in the light.

Oh, now you got me started.

Nice to know though that I am not the only one.
