Daily Routine

Everyone has a daily routine.  Lately I've been really concentrating on what my daily routine is and what can be trimmed out of it.  I've been working on getting up a little bit before the kids to get a few important routines implemented.  My body might say that it could really use those thirty extra minutes of sleep, but my heart and soul need the quiet time to focus and get my day off to a good start.   I'd like to share my/our daily routine with you - since it is routine week and all.  Please realize that these times are approximations - it's a flexible schedule.

5:30-6am    Get up - shower, get dressed
6-6:45am    Cup of coffee, quiet time (devotions), check emails
6:45-7am    Kids get up and Daddy goes to work
7am-7:30    Eat breakfast (choose from: cold cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, toast, eggs)
7:30-8am    Kids choose a show to watch/ I clean up kitchen, start a load of laundry, make a phone call, etc.
8am-9am    School Time - we work on a project, practice letters, read books - based on our theme
9-11:30am   Run errands, go to the park, play outside, water plants and flowers, meet a friend
11:30-12pm Lunch Time (choose from: PB&J, muffins/quick bread, quesadillas, smoothies, always fruit)
noon-3pm   Nap Time - housework, printables orders, blogging, relax/read a magazine
3pm-5pm    Go for a run or a walk with hubby and kids, play outside, craft time
5pm-6pm    Prepare dinner/eat dinner
6pm-7pm    Play outside, play a board game, relax, baths, read books
7-7:30pm    Kids in bed
7:30-8pm    Finish up work (printables orders, blogging)
8-10pm      Relax - watch a show or a movie, fold laundry, pay bills, read
10pm         In bed!

My favorite part of the day?  I love the quiet in the morning when everyone's asleep.  I also love our school time from in the morning.  I also love my running time.  What's your favorite part of your daily routine?

  1. Wow, I love this, I so wish my schedule could be this way. My little one are two small to stay in bed until 7am. Okay, maybe they are just like mommy and are early birds too!

Thanks for the inspiration, some day my life will be CLEAN too!

  2. I love my time in the garden during the summer. The mornings are cool and everything is so green and pretty. I have my iPod with me and I listen to the Daily Audio Bible at that time and I can really concentrate and appreciate God's blessings. My other favorite time is when I've checked off the last of my daily to-do's and I know the house is (not perfect) but in order.
    Blessings,
    Nancy

  3. This is great! I'm about to become a SAHM for a month before baby #2 comes, and then for a few months after that and I always wondered how I'd spend the day. It's good to see something like this. Thanks!

  4. I am excited to get into a summer routine! I think it will be really nice to get some stuff done outside, and inside as well as some fun times with my daughter!

  5. I am a night person, not a morning person, so 5:30am is way too early for me ;) I can deal with 6:30/7am, but that is when my kids wake up too. I love the night. It is 10:30pm, the crickets are chirping & I am "catching up" on some blogs. BTW... I love the changes on your blog :) My big goal this summer is to "make-over" our family blog. I use Wordpress, but may switch to Blogger---it seems easier to manage!

    Thanks for the great ideas!
