My sister introduced me to this cheese at Trader Joe's, so I can't take full credit. If you have a TJ's within 50 miles, pick up a package or two this summer for your hamburgers.
It's creamy, melts perfectly and isn't as sharp or strong as straight blue cheese (because it's a blend of monterey jack and blue cheese). If you need a great burger recipe - try them with this "Perfect Burger" recipe from Williams-Sonoma.
I'm also thinking it would be yummy to try the cheese on a turkey melt, or a hot roast beef sandwich. Or sliced up thinly on a cobb salad - yum!
That sounds yummy! I like to put blue cheese into the patties when In make burgers. You can't tell it's blue cheese but the burgers are so much better than my regular ones!
ReplyDeleteWe are three hours from our nearest TJs so we always stock up when we go near one. Thanks for the suggestion.
ReplyDeleteOh my word, I must try these! MUST! Thanks so much for the heads up!
