Under a potted plant. Keep screws, nails, etc from rolling away when putting something together or taking it apart. Place drippy paint brushes on. My kids think they make great 'pie pans' and 'serving plates' when making mud pies.
using two... put one on the counter ad side down... fill with grape tomatoes cover with the 2nd lid, ad side down...hold firmly using long knife, cut thru the grape tomatoes... wallah! ready to toss in your salad in one pass (Rachel Ray's idea)
Poke a hole in the center of the lid with a small knife and poke the Popsicle stick in the hole with the rim side up. No more Popsicle drips! With two toddlers this is a BIG deal around here! woo hoo
I use lids to contain pins and beads on my work table when crafting. They work great and I have lots of sizes. I have them under plant pots too. Love them!!!
I use a mayo lid cover under my husband's shaving cream can. Since he prefers to shave it the shower, it saves my sanity by not having to clean rust rings around the tub wherever it has been sat!
I also save mayo lids as they are the perfect size to replace on a jar of homemade pickles. After a while, the canning lids & rings tend to leave a rust residue from the acidity of the vinegar. I've had to chide my husband for thoughtlessly tossing them out!
I use a lid under the plunger in the bathroom. That is some yucky water I do NOT want dripping down onto the floor!
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! Thanks for sharing!!!

ReplyDeleteWe use dog bowls for our plungers:). For lids, I use them to put dollops of paint when my kids are painting.
