I'm in the zone, but I had to drag my kids with me. We had a busy day today and I didn't get to my zone until after dinner. (Tonight (Monday) is a tv night for me - no Zone Cleaning.) I involved my two kids and we tackled under the kitchen sink. What, gasp...under the sink? Buckle up, check out under the sink cupboard.
Before:
Step 1: Set timer for 15 minutes
Step 2: Empty cupboard (kids squished sponges)
Step 3: Quickly sort into three groups (toss, relocate, and put back into cupboard - toddlers and preschoolers are great helpers and sorters)
Step 4: Spray down cupboard with Basic H2 (all-purpose formulation) and wipe clean with a rag
Step 5: Organize the space.....
Time's Up! Throw away toss bag and put your "relocate" items away.
After:
My kids can help with the under the sink stuff because I don't have anything that's toxic or harmful under my sinks. It's nice and simple - I primarily use one cleaner for EVERYTHING. Under my sink (I'm sharing because I like to snoop, so I thought you might like to, too) I have the basics, garbage bags, sponges, Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, veggie scrubbies, Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Soap and my favorite Shaklee product - Basic H2 and spray bottles. I also have Shaklee Hand Wash Concentrate (smells sooo good), Germ Off Wipes, Dish Wash, and Scour Off Paste.
So there you have it - I pulled in the 2nd and 3rd string players and we won - the cupboard is clean and organized. How's your 2nd Zone going?
You are doing great! I skipped some day for lack of time, but I'm following. Oh, and everyday I hand wash some clothes that I cannot put in the washer.
ReplyDeletei really like step 3! i do that but never really made it a process. i am the type to go from one thing to the next! 15 minutes and i should have the desk top cleared! thanks!
ReplyDeleteI got the bathroom closet done. Old meds thrown out and everything sorted, then even put together a basket of first aid supplies. I already had all the supplies but no organization. Now they are easy to find if they are needed. And in a house with four children I am sure it is only time until they are needed again.
ReplyDeleteWow, I have got to make my cabinet under my sink to look like that! That looks great!
ReplyDeleteTonight I'm working on my bedroom, i just posted before pics.... :)
