ZONE CLEANING - WEEK 4/ DAY 4

SO this is it...the last day of Zone Cleaning - the final quarter of the game.  This week I've been dealing with kid spaces and today I'm going to tackle our coat closet directly to the right of our front door.  I keep some games, some outdoor gear, and dressier coats.  It's also a place for guests to hang their coats, so it should look a little bit less discombobulated.   Right now, it needs about 15 minutes of tidying and reorganization - it's a perfect final quarter project for Zone Cleaning.

Before:

Here's what I did:

Step 1: Set timer for 15 minutes

Step 2: Empty closet.

Step 3: Quickly sort into three groups (pack away/donate, relocate, and put back on shelf or hang up).

Step 4: Spray down shelf with Basic H2 (all-purpose formulation) and wipe clean with a rag.

Step 5: Organize the space.....

Time's Up!  Put "relocate" items away.

After:

Here's a cheap little storage trick for those of you with wire shelving - hang up things that have holes in them on "S" hooks.  They are about 25 cents each at your local home improvement store and are a great way to store things that are "hang-up-able".  I use them in my broom closet to hang up brooms and mops.  Neat.

Come on back tomorrow...I'm going to tell you about some fun February blog posts that I have planned  (HINT, HINT: art, getting messy, craft room/space, organizing, and a fun giveaway from Clean Mama).

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO PARTICIPATED IN MY ZONE CLEANING EVENT!  I HAD A GREAT TIME GETTING CLEAN WITH YOU!  YOUR RESPONSE HAS BEEN WAY MORE THAN I HAD IMAGINED - THANKS!  Please feel free to email me (clean.mama@yahoo.com) with any questions about Shaklee, starting a business, green cleaning, art projects.....)  I love to hear from you!
