Window Treatment Question and SPRING ZONE CLEANING - DAY 9

Today's little bit - windows - 2nd floor or first half of your windows

But before we get started, has anyone ever dressed windows like these?  They are "transom" windows and I am having a hard time deciding what to do with them.  Should I do a swag, full curtains, nothing.  The previous owners had a curtain rod up and I don't want to take it down until I know what I'm doing with the window treatments.  I'd love to be able to use the curtain rod in the treatment of the windows.  SO, any ideas or blogs that you can point me to?
 Now on to the windows....

I'm all about doing things assembly line style.  So, I'm going to pull ALL of my 2nd floor blinds up (nice, clean blinds, I might add) and spray my Basic H2 - windows and mirrors formulation on each window per room.  Then, I'm going to use my Super Microfiber Window Cloth and wipe them all to a spotless, streak-free shine.  I do live in the Midwest, so I think I'll wait until next month to do the outside of my windows, but if you have a nice warm day in your neck of the woods, and you feel like it,  wash the outside of your windows.

  1. Our windows (circa 70's) have plastic over them on the inside, since we live in MI (read cold), so I can't clean them for another month. I was gone yesterday & will be gone most of the day, so I will catch up on other things ;)

There are many ways to dress your windows. I am an interior designer, but my windows lack imagination too, lol For me it is time & money! Two sites that give good & inexpensive ideas are Thrifty Decor Chick: http://thriftydecorchick.blogspot.com/2009/04/easy-drapery-tricks.html & The Nester: http://www.thenester.com/category/window-mistreatments

I plane to work on my windows after I declutter!
