Black + Decker Steam Mop Giveaway

*****THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED*****
I'm super excited to tell you about a new steam mop and to be able to give one away!  I was looking for a new steam mop - I had the Shark mop, it worked okay, but it was losing its "steam".  So when I was contacted to review and give away the Black + Decker Steam Mop - I was really excited!

Here are my favorite features of the Black + Decker Steam mop:
Kills 99.9% of germs using just water - No chemicals required. Great for homes with kids or pets.
With SmartSelect™ Technology - simply turn the dial to the specific floor type - Hardwood, Laminate, Tile, Vinyl or Stone and Marble. The mop automatically releases the right amount of steam.
Automatic Shut-Off Feature - Mop automatically shuts off the steam when parked upright for those quick pauses during cleaning.
Ready-To-Go Tank Illumination - changes from red to blue when the water reaches the correct temperature.
23 Foot Cord - no more unplugging and plugging in and unplugging as I mop
Swivel Steering - easily maneuver around furniture and into corners.
Easy-glide Microfiber Pads - effortlessly glides across floor locking in dirt and grime. Machine washable and reusable.
Hands-free Pad Removal - for easy release by simply stepping on the pad.
High Capacity Tank - holds enough water for over twenty-five minutes of uninterrupted cleaning.

So how does it work?  AMAZINGLY!  I absolutely love it - the design is well-thought out and I love that you can adjust the steam levels to your specific floor type.  Here are a couple pictures of the Black + Decker Steam Mop in action.

I especially like that it comes with this resting mat that you can set it on while you move furniture or grab the phone or whatever.  Notice that it also can stand on its own - my other steam mop had to be leaned against a wall and fell down more than a time or two.

Here's the microfiber pad (it came with 3!) - these blue stripes help to scrub up tougher spots on the floors.

I have used the Black & Decker Steam Mop on my hardwood floors, tile floors, and linoleum - it worked perfectly on each floor type.

Here's a before of the hardwood floors in my kitchen

and the after

and the dirty mop pad after doing the kitchen

  6. When we moved into our rental house all the grout was black and the tile was gross too. Had to scrub kitchen, dining room and hall by hand and it took hours! wish I had had a steam mop, thanks for the giveaway!

  7. I just became your newest follower & would be so happy to win the steam mop. I have tile floors throughout my kitchen, leading into my hallway and then into the laundry room and bathrooms so that 23 foot cord would be awesome!

Biggest mess - just yesterday my daughter was helping bake and dropped a dozen eggs on the floor - what a gooey sticky yucky mess - would have been fab with the steam mop!

    Keeping fingers crossed! www.northerncottage.blogspot.com

  8. I follow you on google reader and have been wanting a steam mop since last Thanksgiving but could never make it work in our budget. Would LOVE to win one!! I'd use it on my kitchen floors to take care of toddler spills and on my hardwoods throughout the house. Thanks!

  9. I subscribe to Clean Mama on Google Reader! I have been wanting and wanting a steam mop for some time now, but something else always seems to jump in front of it on the priority list. I frequently make a mess when cooking...no matter how much I try to clean up after myself, lots of little messes throughout the week inevitably accumulate, leaving one gross floor. Thanks for the giveaway!

  17. Wow - I would love this - I have terrazzo floors in my kitchen, and this would be perfect for them.

As for the biggest mess? it wasn't me, it was my mom who had to clean it - but one time my little brother and his friend decided to go "ice skating" by dumping an entire bottle of cooking oil on the kitchen floor. :)

I have 6 kids and am the neighborhood hangout spot, so the messes in my house are ALWAYS amazing! The worst one was a couple of weeks ago after days of rain - the kids got 2 new gocarts and spent the day getting covered in mud. They ALL came inside covered in mud and tracked it everywhere before I realized what they were doing!

I have tile and laminate in 80% of this house and since I've been sick, the floors haven't been cleaned so good. I would love something like this to make it easier for me to clean the floors!

  163. I now follow you on Facebook :). I'd use it the most in the kitchen. With a dog and two kiddos it seems the kitchen floor is never clean enough. Thanks for offering this giveaway!

  165. The biggest mess I ever had was when filthy snow and ice blew through my (closed!) windows in this really pathetic house we lived in. I wish I had a steam mop back then to clean it up!

  166. I would ADORE using this mop on my Travertine, wood, and tile floors.

Thanks for the chance to win it and for all the great blog posts!

  170. I am a fan of clean mama and black and decker on FB. I need a steam mop in order to keep my floors clean for my 20 month old daughter. With her and 2 dogs I am always cleaning up something off my floors. Its almost as if they will never be completely clean.

  171. I subscribe to clean mama.

I dropped a container of formula on the kitchen floor. It was a huge mess and a pain to clean up.

  172. You have no idea how badly I NEED this. I have a toddler and a new puppy. My floors are hideous two seconds after cleaning them. And I despise my grout, which seems to NEVER get clean. I think this would make my life a ton easier!!

  184. the worst floor cleaning session i ever had was when we moved from the east coast to our new rental on the west coast and i was pregnant, had a toddler, and 2 big dogs. when we got to our new rental our feet were black from the enormous amount of dirt and grime from the linoleum tile floors- they obviously hadn't been cleaned in a seriously long time!! so my hubby and i scrubbed the floors on our hands and knees and it took more than 10 hours. we were sore afterwards.

  185. One of the biggest messes I've ever had to clean up was my kitchen this weekend after I've been out of commission for a week and a half post surgery and Mr. Mom has been in charge of meals. Whew! The messes add up fast!
